First of all; meditation is not just for monks.

 It’s called meditation practice, for a reason — because it’s not meditation perfect. I’ve said it before and I say it out loud, I am not perfect. I can only take each day to try and improve myself.

The number one complaint/lie I hear about meditation is:

“Everytime I sit down to do it I can’t stop my thoughts… I’m just running around in my head… I suck at meditating.”

Stop!

We have evolved into thinking and planning creatures. We can’t turn that off.

What we can do is learn to be present; slow things down; observe our thoughts.

I HIGHLY recommend taking a meditation class! There’s an accountability factor that plays in our favor when we do. I even use apps (check out my post about them!), like one of my favorites, Simply Being, and another couple: Calm and Headspace. Headspace is designed by SCIENTISTS!

You can set a timer for 5 minutes, 10, even 30 minutes for guided meditation and you just press play! They begin by playing background music and there’s a voice that guides you through each mediation.

This would be AWESOME! for beginners.

There’s features for centering and meditation that I use before meetings and get-togethers. You carry yourself in a more aware and present mindset. It helps build stronger relationships because you really network and connect with people on a deeper level. It helps build trust. After all, people want to do business with those they trust!

There is great power in your own unique purpose. Dare to connect with that purpose, and let it energize your every action.

Here is a quick and easy routine for meditation and a guide to incorporating it in daily routines: Download a meditation app: I like Simply Being and Calm (Check out my post on Mindfulness apps!) Set it for 5 minutes. For 5 days. Move up to 10 minutes for 10 days. Move up to 15 minutes for 15 days. Move up to 30 minutes for 30 days. Start searching for guided meditations online and meditation classes in your community. You’ll find more people meditating together than you ever thought existed!
